Vascular anesthesia uses the term vascular in relation to blood vessels, which are a networked vascular system. Anesthetics used to induce anesthesia during surgeries of the blood vessels are termed as vascular anesthesia. A few examples of conditions treated by vascular surgery include vascular thromboses, aneurysms, and stenosis. In this module, you will learn about the patient-centered concerns of people coming for vascular surgery, how you can best optimize the care of these patients throughout the perioperative journey, and how the pharmacology and physiology of anesthetic agents and procedures can provide safe and effective management for these people.
